Uncle Si Says “Stuff It”

Si Robertson, the beloved uncle of the family that makes the famous Duck Commander duck calls, has teamed up with Operation Christmas Child to get the word out about sharing the Gospel through a shoe box gift.

The ministry, which falls under the Samaritan Purse umbrella, is in the middle of National Collection Week, so you, along with Si, can still be a part of sending love and joy to children around the world.

“Look, I’m 65 years old, okay, but I’m really 10 years old,” says Si. “I refuse to grow up. I’m always gonna be a child, okay? So that’s why children have a special place in my heart.”

Duck Dynasty’s Uncle Si is joining in on packing a shoe box gift for Operation Christmas Child.

For months, U.S. residents, families and groups have been filling empty shoeboxes with items such as toys, school supplies, hygiene items and notes of encouragement. Now through Nov. 24, they will drop their lovingly packed shoebox gifts at one of more than 4,000 collection points in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

Operation Christmas Child, the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, will deliver those gift-filled shoeboxes using any means necessary—boat, plane, dog sled and even elephant—to reach the hands of needy children.

“One of the best ways to show we are thankful is to give to those less fortunate,” said Randy Riddle, domestic director for Operation Christmas Child. “The children who receive these gifts have so little. For many, the shoebox will be the first gift they ever receive. Receiving a shoebox gift can have a lifelong impact on a child who longs to experience joy and hope.”

Shoebox gifts are prepared for overseas shipment at nine major processing centers across the United States—Atlanta; Baltimore; Boone, N.C.; Charlotte; Dallas; Denver; Honolulu; Minneapolis; and Southern California.

Operation Christmas Child also offers the opportunity year-round to pack personalized shoebox gifts online. Go to samaritanspurse.org and click on Operation Christmas Child to select toys and gift items, write a note of encouragement, and “pack” them in a shoebox.

Donors can find out the country where their gifts are delivered by creating shipping labels and using the donation form found at samaritanspurse.org.
